Abstract:

Many organizations today realize the importance of a performance measurement system (PMS) and thus make a substantial investment in the design and implementation of a PMS. At the same time, there is no clear relationship between the success of a PMS and the financial performance of the organization. This research thus aims to present an analysis of the relationship between the level of success of a PMS and the financial performance of the organization. In the end, the study reveals no significant relationship between the success of a PMS and the financial success of a company. The lack of a discernable relationship may be the result of uncontrollable factors or time lag effect.
