The Enzymatic saccharification of biomass for bio ethanol production has been studied extensively world wide. In the present study, the fungal xylanase from Phanerochaete chrysosporium along with two strains of Saccharomyces was studied for its potentiality to produce bioethanol. Three methods have been employed for ethanol retrieval. In Separate Hydrolysis and Fermentation(SHF) ethanol yield was 168.17{6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465}. In Simultaneous Saccharification and Fermentation (SSF) process 0.034g/g of ethanol was obtained. The amount of ethanol produced by co-culture technique with Phanerochaete chrysosporium and two strains of Saccharomyces was higher (19.357g/g substrate) than the other two methods. The results proved that crude xylanase hydrolysates from wheat bran is an excellent cost-effective method for bioethanol production.
