This study extends prior research and explores the relationships among high performance work system (HPWS), transformational leadership behaviors (TFL), psychological capital, and individual work outcomes. Drawing from 196 supervisor-subordinate dyads from Taiwanese companies, we examined the mediating effect of psychological capital on relationships among HPWS, transformational leadership, and task performance. We found that HPWS and TFL influence and enhance individuals’ psychological capital and, in turn, lead to better task performance.
