This study is about cost analysis. Generally, cost is usually considered as a critical factor indicating production efficiency. In this study, we bring appropriately developed assembly sequence planning of solid wood furniture industry to consider with cost analysis using comparative analysis between conventional assembly sequence planning and unconventional one which is specially developed for wooden industry. The analysis is done through 2 models including: wooden chair using design process and wooden material limitation consideration named 2-legged chair; and developed model of one of top six popular wooden chairs in the USA.

The main cost index used in the analysis limited on assembly labor cost due to the least changes possibility in material and shaping process maintaining all cost factors. Further, labor cost is directly relying on assembly time. When applied with developed assembly sequence planning, the first model can reduce total assembly cost for 24.53{6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465} and the second model can reduce total assembly cost for 50.66{6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465}. As a result, development of a tool to find assembly sequence and appropriate assembly process for wooden furniture industry can reduce assembly cost dramatically comparing to the conventional tool.
