The hydrogenation and selective ring opening (SRO) of tetralin was catalyzed by Ir/ASA, Ir/USY, Ir/SiO2 and Ni/ASA, Ni/USY, Ni/SiO2 catalysts, have been studied. The ring opening reaction was carried out in a fixed-bed reactor at 300℃, using H2 pressure of 30 bar, WHSV of 2.3h-1 and H2/feed molar ratio of 40 and the resultant products were analyzed by GC and GC-MS analysis. The selectivity and product distribution are strongly affected by the acidicity as well as the metal site of catalysts.
