New Types of water soluble organic polymer materials were formed by hydrolyzing the acrylate polymer prepared by free radical polymerization of captodatively substituted biobased monomer. The solubility and thermal properties of the resulting polymer were much dependent on the chirality of monomer used in feed, and swelling ratio of the cross-linked hydrogel was drastically changed by the tacticity of polymer and isotacticity of polymer reduced the swelling. It is of interest that isotactic gel adsorbed effectively Cs ion.
