Abstract: How do students focusing on software engineering view
Software Development, Processes and Entrepreneurship? To find
out the answer to this questions a phenomenographic perspective
was chosen and 33 Finnish students in University of Applied
Sciences were studied. The data was analyzed to find out in
which different ways the informants see the phenomena of
interest. In this paper we present the variations for teaching to
support different ways of students learning the phenomena of
interest. The lesson learned from this study is that more can and
should be done to better prepare students for the professional life
of a software developer in a small software company to promote
the internal process improvement both in business processes,
software processes, entrepreneurship and sales processes.
