Abstract:This study focuses on the application of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) methods to Thai high school students by EFL teachers. Five Thai EFL teachers were selected as the participants and observed to clarify how they used CLT in their classrooms. The results show that three understood this teaching technique and successfully applied it in lessons with their students. The semi-structured interview after the observation aimed to discover reasons for using activities they chose in the teaching process. The results from the semi-structured interview show that the participants tried to use different activities to make lessons more interesting so that students would engage in the class.
