Abstract:

L cells are located in the gastrointestines and produce Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) hormone. GLP-1 plays important roles in regulating and integrating many aspects of gastrointestinal physiology as well as insulin secretion. L cells could contribute significantly in the study of diabetic gene therapy, therefore, the pure cell line was needed. Neomycin resistant gene as selected marker for mammalian cell line was employed to isolate L cells. To confirm the correctness of the extracted cells, RT-PCR and Real-time PCR were applied.
