Abstract:
More and more multi-national companies are expected to take on a bigger role in society beyond the economic motive of profitability. The objective of this research is to conduct a cross-national comparison of
firms’ corporate social performance (CSP) in Asia relative to the USA. Empirical tests are based on a global CSP database of companies from four Asian countries and the USA. Results show that Japanese companies outperform other Asian countries and the USA in various aspects of CSP.
