Abstract: This study was performed to correlate the minimum inhibitory concentration of cycloserine in 33 multidrug resistant (MDR) and 25 susceptible (S) Mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB) isolates using the Broth Microdilution Method (BMM). It was found that the growth of 52 {6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465} of the MDR-TB isolates were inhibited at 32 μg/ml of cycloserine, while 92 {6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465} of susceptible isolates were inhibited at 16 μg/mL of cycloserine. The cycloserine susceptibility patterns across the 4 weeks were variable amongst isolates in different tested sets. None of the susceptible TB isolates responded to cycloserine concentrations of 64 and > 64 μg/mL, while 33 {6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465} and 12 {6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465} of MDR-TB isolates responded to these concentrations, respectively. These results are of importance for the development of stable cycloserine drugs at effective and non-toxic dosages.
