Abstract:

Physical factors of urban is able to affect the outdoor temperature and energy consumptions for cooling and heating in buildings. Especially, the relation between climate change and energy use is a very important research issue of depletion of fossil fuel. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of heat island on building energy use in summer. This study has collected weather data of 28 auto weather stations of Seoul through Korea Meteorological Administration for a year. In order to predict UHII, predictive model of heat island was used by the artificial neural network model. Also, the predicted model was designed for UHII considered by albedo, green area, building area, water area, road area, wind speed, direction, cloud amount, temperature and precipitation. DOE reference building was used for the analysis related to cooling energy consumption at 28 stations. As a result, predicted heat island intensity, measured heat island intensity and energy consumption showed a high correlation, which confirmed the reliability of the model.
