Abstract:
Increased global competition, development of different technical and communicational solutions and emergence of a knowledge based economy have lead to development of new organizational forms and implementation of many modern aspects and solutions in organizational design. In this paper we analyze results that were gathered through a survey conducted among 144 Croatian companies. The survey was designed to address different aspects of organizations and organizational design. Results presented examine state and perspectives of applying modern organizational structures, rate of outsourcing
and downsizing in Croatian companies, as well as number of hierarchical levels, strategy structure fit, presence of lateral teams and organizational learning. Although different modern aspects of design are present among Croatian companies, it is concluded that their implementation should be more intensified in order to stay competitive.
