Abstract:
Concrete structures are expected to be reliable and durable and give trouble free service throughout its design life. These expectations cannot be real as we think due to different reason. There are different national and international codes which tell about the design, construction, maintenance and other aspects which help to improve reliability and durability of concrete structures. There are also different tailor made inspection programme by the industry which helps to improve reliability and durability of structures. We need to find out all possible reason of degradation of structures which directly or indirectly make impact on durability of structures and stop the structure to provide the services for which it is intended.
