Abstract:

Structural covers for transport infrastructures and routes in an urban environment answer to public policy issues relating to urban questions, real estate questions, etc. The multiplicity of actors, multi-scalar consideration and integration of temporality, in addition to contextual and technical constraints mean that the decision in the case covers urban infrastructure is often a chaotic process and rarely concerted. In order to offer evaluation methods of this particular object, it is necessary to understand and to interpret the object in its urban environment. In this perspective, modeling work of structural cover is undertaken. Using conceptual models enabled the identification of a nuisance/inconvenience process between environment’s elements. Structural covers constitute a possible response to the conflict and the problem about the coexistence of the infrastructure and the urban space. Its integration into the urban system is a complex problem. Thus, questioning and reflection around the methods and tools of structural covers evaluation, are naturally oriented towards the study of complex systems. To understand and represent the operation of the complex system coverage, functional analysis is used.
