Abstract:
Information is increasingly important to model organizations today. Information-based decision-making has been consider as a critical factor for the success in today's business world. As the traditional transaction system is unable to support users' activities in terms of decision-making, data warehousing-making, data warehousing techniques and the concept of business intelligence has evolved. These techniques not only can be applied in the commercial organizations, but also educational institutions. This paper details research to date on the development of a conceptual framework and implementable architecture for using business intelligence, specifically predictive analytics and data mining, for future tertiary course scheduling. Specifically, the aim of the work Information Technology programs, for offering in future years.
Such a solution would allow productive resource allocation, and increase collaboration across different faculties in an effort to further improve tertiary teaching and learning.
