Abstract:
As a best bridge between urban planning and urban climatology, urban climate map system can scientifically guide urban planning and decision-making for sustainable development. Aiming at mitigating urban climate issues of Xiamen, based upon local specific natural, economic and social conditions and urban development strategy, with the idea of climate function analysis, approaches of ur-ban climate map system in Xiamen is explored. Findings show that urban climate map system can set framework for generating urban design guidelines at all levels, and its effectiveness corresponds the precision of collected basic data which de-pends on the degree of cooperation between departments concerned.
