Abstract:
Urban sprawl is one of the most widespread forms of soil consumption. In accordance with EU decisions, some European states have approved or are approving regulations for the limitation of soil consumption. On Italian land the phenomenon persists, taking various forms from the peninsula’s one end to the other. A consensual direction shall be proposed for the redevelopment of low-density urban and suburban areas, based on brownfield densification, in order to create a renewed peri-urban border.
