Abstract: This paper deals with grammatical gender as one of the conceptual transfers in language contact studies. Among several kinds of crosslinguistic influence (or transfer) linguistic transfer has been most researched so far, although researches on transfer in language contact has been just for twenty years or so without any skepticism in a true sense. In addition to linguistic transfer conceptual transfer is an inevitable aspect to the linguistic research of language contact and contact-induced language change. Jarvis & Pavlenko (2008) [mentioned as JP below] is the most recent and comprehensive description of this conceptual transfer as far as I know. Adding this description and theory to my analysis I will approach the solution to what I could not clarify in my paper (2016). Different from JP I will take an acquisitionist approach as one of the approaches to sociohistorical linguistics and also I will consider the learning situations of heritage language speakers based on Polinsky et al (2012). In this research I challenge to deal with transfer of grammatical gender as one of the conceptual transfers. In my opinion JP’s analysis needs more linguistic ramification. It is preferable for them to consider the theory of cognitive dominance. Here in my analysis I combine the theory of conceptual transfer with the theory of cognitive dominance. Depending on my recent researches I analyze grammatical gender in morphosyntactic agreement in the language contact situation between colloquial Arabic and Israeli Hebrew in Israel using the data I collected through my own field researches. I assert that when considering grammatical gender and its agreement in language contact situation, the theory of cognitive dominance is essential as a basis for linguistic analysis, including the analysis of conceptual transfer, and this theory is effective and inevitable to analyze restructuring process as one of the types of linguistic transfer.
