Abstract: Testing is a relatively new profession in common IT job market. Managers are aware that testing is a formal, systematic process based on mathematical background. Observing market one can find that the requirements for tester position are different than the requirements for developers and other members of technical staff. Also one can find that testers’ needs differ a little from the needs of typical IT people. In this paper, we would like to present from one hand what are market’s needs, from the other – how future testers are taught in universities all over the world, but with special attention on education methods in Poland.
