Abstract: The exceptional metallogenic novelty of the last decades was the discovery in the Metaliferi Mountains, Romania of 14 porphyry copper systems. As a rule, such systems are spatially associated with epithermal gold deposits. Gold is present in porphyry copper deposits, sometimes reaching up to 1 g/t. The specificity of such deposits is the direct correlation between copper and gold contents.
