Abstract: Low carbon technology has been promoted to increase its adoption to mitigate the climate change impacts including household. In Indonesia, after industry and transportation, the household sector also consumes 16.90{6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465} of total energy where 14.94{6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465} of the total is from electricity. Low carbon technology in household sector can be applied by installing LED bulbs. This study aims to investigate two methods of calculating emission reduction by installing LED bulbs: UNFCCC method ACM0046 and IPCC method. The result shows that both methods give different result. Furthermore, a cost-effectiveness analysis was also performed and implementing this activity will cost $250-300 per tonCO2 annually. Replacing 2,334 CFL bulbs during this project avoids 1026 mg mercury release to the environment by using LED bulb.
