Abstract:
The Upper Cretaceous horizon at Bogwania section is a fossiliferrous intertrappean horizon in central India. The Invertebrate fossil molluscan genera present are, Physa,Viviparus,and Brotia of which Brotia is reported from the entire Intertrappean horizon for the first time. Petrological study of the host rock as well as palaeontological study of the fossil assemblage reveal that the palaeo environment of the area was mouth region of a slow flowing river.
