ABSTRACT:
Palynological investigation carried out from Sattupalli Open Cast Mine of Chintalpudi
sub basin, South Eastern part of Godavari valley Coalfield have revealed two distinct
palynoassemblages viz., Palynoassemblage - A abundance with Scheuringipollenites and sub
dominance of Primuspollenites Parasaccites, Striatites, Ibisporites and other taxa like
Verticipollenites, Densipollenites, Lahirites, Crescentipollenites, Virkkipollenites and
Rhizomaspora. In Palynoassemblage – B shows rich occurrence of Parasaccites -
Scheuringipollenites along with sub dominance of Faunipollenites, Densipollenites and other
taxa like Latosporites, Direticuloidispora, Kamthisaccites and Virkkipollenites. Identified
palynoassemblage A and B belongs to Lower Barakar and Talchir Formation respectively.
The present recovered palynoflora from South Eastern part of Godavari valley reveals and
supports towards Talchir and Lower Barakar Formations. Besides palaeodepositional
conditions for the sediments can be drawn by applying high resolution palynomorphic
features of palynoflora.
