Guwahati, a city in India is growing. Housing as a sector and housing units or dwelling units have reduced over the years .The demand for it has increased. The master plan 2020 suggest decentralization of the city, but balance in sectors is necessary and making it livable. The need to focus on housing is essential for a city to grow, as housing is one of the important components of a city and the most sensible one. A critical analysis is necessary for increasing livability of the city and its solutions to keep a balance in percentage of commercial ,industrial and housing sectors.
