Abstract: Focusing on desert narratives a distinct trend and constituted a start of what’s known today as desert writing. The study will identify the concept of Desert Novel in the modern Arabic novel, the contemporary forms inspired by desert narration and forms of presenting the sacred in tribal texts.. The study analyzes expressions of the struggle between the pastoral societies on the one hand and the urban on the other and forms of the nostalgic restoration of the primitive former that exalts imaginings of the desert as a lost paradise threatened with extinction in the selected texts.
