Abstract: Language is a vehicle of culture, a learned behavior as well, and there’s no absolute connection between language and race. So does the accent. As the technology hurtles along at the speed of light, the media including me-media has taken a popularized and wide-spreading role in our society. It could also be a double-edged sword towards the social circumstances around us. The article discusses the connection between social accent and regional discrimination, especially the Henan dialect through the analysis for comedy performance by Guo Donglin in 2017 Spring Festival Gala. The aim of the article is to analyze the phenomena about social accent occurs in our daily life, and for what reasons lead to regional discrimination, to give some suggestions for calling on people to abandon regional discrimination.
