Political Economy of Trust and Its Effect on the Share of Iran in Digital Economy

Abstract:

The many researches have been conducted on digital economy in both developed and developing countries. However, this paper aims to investigate political economy of trust (which is considered as the relationship between Political institutions, trust and cooperation among actors in economic interactions) and its effect on the share of Iran in digital economy. According to our assumption, inefficient political institutions and the lack of trust among economic actors in Iran have given rise to a poor economic development and the share of Iran in digital economy has been decreased as a result of it.
