Abstract: This paper analyses the different needs, mindsets, and entrepreneurship propensity among males and females through an extensive survey conducted from Dec 2017 to February 2018. Singapore has actively promoted entrepreneurship, but the effect is uneven among the different genders. The similarities between the genders are toward attractive factors of starting up such as gaining freedom and exercising creativity in their career and unappealing factors such as the fear of business failures and the instability of finances and career. Females are less favorable, less confident, less optimistic and more riskaverse towards entrepreneurship. They view further education and experience gained from working for others as valuable safety nets in their career. Ultimately, with a better understanding of the gender attitudes among youths towards entrepreneurship, government, campuses, and incubators can better craft and customize supports for them.
