Abstract: In today’s healthcare education scenario, the teaching and learning environments are changing from traditional learning to more innovative and simulated methodology. The millennial generation do not like to address the unique learning needs of this generation instead they prefer and expect more of visual technology based teaching and learning experience. According to the International Council of Nurses, innovation is the process of developing incipient approaches, technologies and ways of working. The two key aims are -To briefly review the various teaching innovative methods adopted by nursing institutions in developing and developed countries and to propose recommendations for innovative approach in teaching. Abstracts were evaluated to determine the degree of relevance of articles to the topic. Articles were reviewed using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. A total of eleven articles met eligibility criteria and were included in this narrative review. Research articles focused on innovative teaching methods were Reports on surveys by WHO (n=4), Reviews (n= 5), Case study design (n= 1), Conventional qualitative (n= 1). One of the most positive factors that can be verbally expressed about the different teaching methods is that all the countries stated that their program is competence-based and clinical practicum is a mandatory part of their curriculum, whether integrated from the first year or as a form of internship after the academic phase. It is highly recommended that the course curriculum should be shared among countries under student exchange programs. These programs must be availed by nursing students to receive a cross-culture nursing care experiences, exposure to different teaching methods and enhancement in critical thinking and knowledge.
