Abstract: A qualitative-descriptive research that dealt on the Sociolinguistic perspective on code-switching on electronic media determined why students code-switch on electronic media and showed code-switching on electronic media as sociolinguistic variety of language. The respondents of this study were second year students from College of College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) of Southern Luzon State University, Lucban, Quezon, Philippines. The researcher utilized 75 purposively chosen respondents. The objectives of this study were achieved through Communication Accommodation Theory or CAT. Results revealed that respondents code-switch because of the exposure to electronic media; it accommodates language deficiency, for an easy and fast communication; for entertainment, it lets them communicate freely and it lets them find more friends. It is concluded that code-switching on electronic media can be considered as sociolinguistic variety of language because of an evident convergence and divergence. Also, there were interlanguage and interference manifestations on the word formulation on the word level of code-switching on electronic media.
