Abstract: In this paper, we described the students’ preferences in using search engine to find information they needed for their report writing. The aim of this paper is to gather the data and information retrieval using web search engine particularly by students who are in the field of film and animations programme. The finding shows that the significant roles of web search engine for collecting data and information in their field. Thus, the knowledge can be a platform to automatically generate and personalize courses into the pedagogical knowledge in this domain. Therefore, the using of words also plays roles in using web search engines.
