Abstract: Portrayal of woman and its related aspects has been an integral part of filmmaking since its inception. The area of portrayal of women is diversely rich as they are represented as submissive, oppressed, educated, resilient, open-minded, etc. However, there is a continuous change with respect to the stereotyped image and its depiction. The present paper attempts to highlight the different images of a woman in the course of her journey towards self-identity.
