Abstract: There is a paucity of information regarding English as a Second Language teachers’ development of classroom tests. A shift in orientation from considering the validity and reliability of teacher assessment to investigating what teachers seek in classroom assessment requires attention. This paper begins to provide evidence of what teachers look for and do when they carry out classroom assessment, how they consider information yielded from test responses, and how e-learning could be utilized by teachers who implement this type of second language assessment to create time for more innovative instruction in face-to-face classrooms.
