Abstract:

In this work, a series of Zn thin film were fabricated by Mechanical Coating Technique (MCT). The thin films were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), among others. The influence of some factors, including the rotation speed of planetary ball mill and the air atmosphere, on the formation of Zn thin film were also investigated. The results revealed that higher rotation speeds could accelerate the formation of Zn thin film while decreased the average thickness of the thin film. In addition, oxygen in the air atmosphere improved the adhesion between Zn thin film and Al2O3 balls.
