Abstract:

A new technology for producing nanocrystalline composite materials via modernized Spark Plasma Synthesis (SPS) device were developed. Bulk pieces of effective armor materials on based B4C, TiB2, SiC, TiC and TiN in nanocrystalline structural state were manufactured. Modernization of SPS device was realized by replacing of pulse DC current unit with pulse AC current unit and ultrasonic unit for receiving the standing waves. Via using adding to the SPS processes the processes created by high-voltage condenser discharge, ultrasonic excitation and pulse pressure was possible to get rid of the negative characteristics of the existed SPS device for compaction and synthesizing of not only conductive materials but also of nonconductive materials as well as of aggregated composite materials. Combined influence of these processes promote to compaction of nanopowders and to preservation of the structure in nanocrystalline state.
