Abstract:

Human Rights are the ideals in which liberal democracies flourish. In contemporary world human rights are essential for the survival and personality development of all the human beings. The aim of this paper is to study how far the purpose of human rights has been achieved. Despite the fact that human rights is not doing well, it is also the truth that human rights movement is helping very much for removal of world-wide violation. A strong judicial system is necessary for preserving human rights. There are agencies such as UNO which are working very actively for the redressal of human rights in the world. Media institution in particular is also playing a key role in the process by serving as a means of popular communication, education and mobilization. The human rights framework can be helpful for developing direction and coordination for these efforts and can integrate the distinct yet independent ideals of peace and justice, and human rights and democracy. This paper will begin with the examination of the theoretical background of the concept of human rights in order to understand the basic principles of the concept and its perspective in the context of democratic countries.
