Abstract:

Sustainability is in corporate policy of almost every organization these days, either to achieve financial success for stakeholders or to use its financial success to work towards social development. The paper discusses the case of Volkswagen, one of the leading car manufacturers across the globe. For Volkswagen, sustainability is an opportunity to demonstrate their innovative capabilities and competitiveness in a way it works: bringing out innovation in personal mobility, motivating employees in one corner of the World to help those in another geographic location and improving relation with local government bodies to effectively implement the strategies. Paper focuses on Volkswagen’s efforts in developing economies such as Mexico, Brazil, South Africa and China.
