Abstract:
We proposed and experimentally demonstrated a bidirectional Erbium doped fiber amplifier. The range of the bidirectional Erbium doped fiber amplifier. We use a 1480 amplified covers both C band and L signal. We use a 1480 nm pump laser diode with 200 mW to share both C band and L band EDFA. The average gains are 15.25 and 15.54 dB for C band and L EDFA, respectively, with -10 dBm launched signal power. The average noise figures signal power. The average noise figures signal power. The average noise figures signal power. The average noise figures are 5.11 and 5.08 dB for C band and L EDFA, respectively. The power penalty of the proposed EDFA is less than 0.81 dB for 75 km bidirectional transmission.
