Abstract:
A possible use of natural diatomite as partial Portland cement replacement in cement mortar is studied in the paper. Basic physical properties, mechanical properties, durability characteristics, and hygric properties of mortars with blended cements are determined for the diatomite replacement level up to 20{6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465} of mass of Portland cement and compared with reference cement mortar. The obtained results show that diatomite may have a good potential for future practical application in blended cements.
