Abstract:

The article presents the general characteristics of the CR injection systems are currently used in compression ignition engines as well as information on the diagnosis of injectors in these systems. Describes the basic methodology to enable a full assessment of the actual state operated injectors. Moreover the paper presents the tests on the plant diesel fuel spraying. Unprocessed rapeseed oil and the esters of rapeseed oil have been subjected to the tests. Visualization tests of the fuels have been performed with the use of a quick changing engine processes visualization system - AVL Engine Video System 513D. The analysis of the results was performed in two stages. The first stage dealt with the macrostructural parameters of the sprays (spray penetration, angle and the area of the spray on a plane). The second stage dealt with the structural analysis of the particular sprays with the use of PatEV (Picture Analysis and Transformation for Engine Observation) enabling to indirectly determine the concentration of the fuel in the spray. The obtained results have been compared to standard diesel oil.
