Abstract:

Construction of houses by traditional methods during the past centuries in Iran’s dry and hot regions, implies the widespread attendance of nature, in order for creation of a desired micro climate in them. Their architects skills for the construction of houses has emerged in the situations that there were significant technological limitations. The aim of this research is to demonstrate traditional houses in Hot-Arid climate of Iran as a sample of sustainable architecture. Hereafter, according to descriptive-analytical approach, and based on field and librarian researches, governing fundamentals and sustainable values to these kinds of houses are extracted. And results showed that considering the experience in constructing them, it is possible to create an environmental and sustainable architecture in building new houses.
