Abstract:
The manufacturing of Panel wood offers the reduction of the massive needs on big-sized and of high width wood. Besides, it helps the reduction of the forest land invasion around the globe to use the benefits of the big wood in the forest. The widely-used and popular Panel wood that has existed for several decades is Ply Wood. With the advanced technology in today’s time, it is possible to bring the Lumber from the Forest Planting with the diameter of only 6-15 inches to use in the manufacturing of Panel wood with 4 feet width and 8 feet length.
The so-called Ply Wood products are capable of being used both internally and externally. Mostly, the current raw materials of wood come from the Forest Planting such as rubber tree, eucalyptus and so on. Since this raw materials of wood may not be brought to use inconsistently all year round with different qualities including the demand for Ply Wood is also unstable, and the manufacturing capacity of the machines involved with the technology and the changing of the workforce availability, these factors will play important roles towards the overall management of the industrial manufacturing of Ply Wood.
Therefore, in this study, it is to develop the planning process and propose new way of the integration of tools and machines specifically for the production planning which combines Make to Stock and Make to Order coherently. This combination is called “Hybrid Push/Pull System”. This method allows Semi Stock during the production and it turns out that there is a 30{6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465} reduction of the raw materials stock area and leads to the cost reduction on purchasing the raw materials for another 10-15{6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465}. Furthermore, the quality of the wood is maintained to use as raw materials to produce Ply Wood appropriately. This newly developed method will boost the efficiency to the management of the Panel wood industry coherently and effectively.
This is a way which leads to the reduction of the needs of wood in the natural forest with the introduction of the alternatives for the consumers to use the wood from the Forest Planting under the production of big Panel wood of high quality and meet the standard.
