Abstract:
The results of the cluster analysis suggest that the 30 Chinese provinces have three different patterns of transport energy intensity from 2003 to 2009: (1) generally increasing; (2) generally decreasing; and (3) inverted-U shaped. Provinces showing energy intensity patterns (1) and (2) lie mainly in the Eastern Area whereas provinces showing pattern (3) lie mainly in Central and Western Area.
