Board Process and Capital Structure Decisions in Malaysian Companies

Abstract:

This study examines the relationship between board process and company leverage ofMalaysian public listed companies. Based on asample of 175 companies and 263 directors, it is foundthat board’s risk oversight, competency of independent directors, CEO’s performance evaluation and accessibility of information are negatively related to company leverage.
