Competition Policy in Asia: The Role of Economics in the Enforcement of Competition Rules

Abstract:
Competition policies in Asia are of various nature and kind. Evidence suggest that the level of independence of competition authorities improves pro-competitive policies. Economic evidence is hardly used in competition law in Asia, with the recent exception of Hong Kong.
