Abstract: An encyclopedia is a collection of articles or entries ranging from all or specific branch of knowledge which has the intention to be passed on from this generation to the next. The primary purpose of an encyclopedia is to be a source of reference for a wide array of knowledge, either general or reflecting a particular subject. With the proliferation of the internet, the traditional encyclopedia is now digitized. Contributors can now participate and collaborate in the expansion of knowledge as the contents of the encyclopedia are made available on-line. But regardless of the medium used, the encyclopedia will still maintain its objective of educating as it is after all a collection of knowledge intended to be learned.
This paper discusses the development of ITPedia, an online encyclopedia designed for collaborative knowledge management. The ITPedia is intended to be a credible repository of knowledge about IT-related information.
