Abstract: This study examined the effect of perceived mother’s parenting style on school friends-related adjustment in Korean middle school students by gender. The results showed that there was a difference in the level of school friends-related adjustment by gender, with mother’s permissive and authoritarian parenting style. Moreover, with mother’s authoritative parenting style, the level of school friends-related adjustment was higher as the level of perceived mother’s authoritative parenting style was higher, regardless of gender.
