Abstract:
Housing development strategy of economic and environment vision is an important aspect in order to meet the housing needs of people in an area [7]. This study aims 1) to determine the constraints in the supply of housing in Jember (housing businesses) in Jember District the business of providing housing for people; 2) to determine the strategies implemented by the developer in the development of appropriate housing in Jember District. This research is a qualitative study with primary and secondary data. Informants were selected using purposive sampling, the method of analysis using domain
analysis, taxonomic analysis, componential analysis, and analysis of cultural themes [16]. Housing development constraints caused by weakness developers in Jember District who lack the instinct to respond needs of the community, especially in factor land price, location, and public facilities and social facilities. Appropriate housing development strategy in Jember District is a housing development with respect to location, quality facilities and quality of social amenities to attract people to fulfill his need for change. Society will consider its location, the quality of public facilities and the quality of social amenities to improve the quality of life.
