Abstract:
The seismic base isolation system reduces the seismic response that is transmitted from foundation to upper structure. The efficacy of seismic isolation in structures subjected to strong ground excitation, including near-fault effects, is potentially compromised by excessive overturning moments capable of inducing undesirable uplift or tension in the isolation bearings. In this paper, various types of anti-uplift devices are proposed. And the numerical analysis of anti-uplift devices has been conducted. These anti-uplift devices, which are capable of sustaining tensile forces, thereby preventing uplift
